Submission + - Guvera's new model for legal music downloads (

schliz writes: A new service lets users in the U.S. and Australia download music files legally , via deals with major record labels and advertisers large and small. The site,, claims to transform advertising from a disruptive model to one that engages users, and hopes to "support cooler, super niche content that struggled under an advertising model that preferred mainstream content for its larger audience."

Founder Claes Loberg told journalists about a "nightmare" of IT that ties together concepts already employed by Google's Adwords, Facebook and Pandora: users describe themselves and their interests, advertisers nominate characteristics of their target demographic, and users are matched to custom-designed, advertiser-sponsored 'radio channels' that host music relevant to both the user and the brand.
