Who really gives a shit about the kernel that's running underneath? Windows' problem is the mess of the registry, of filesharing incompatibility (like wtf can't I just type a samba share into the explorer address bar?!), of useless "troubleshooter" wizards, of different settings dialogs, etc... if they port all of that over to Linux it's still going to be crap.
I'm sure "millennials" are much more interested in iOS, MacOS and Android than they are in Windows or Linux but regardless of that any sane person is
