Interesting article on the infiltration of Canada by some bad news sort of folks that hail from the "manufacturer of the world" nation. And I certainly wouldn't bet against similar in the United States either. FWIW, just an interesting article I ran across.
Oh hey, off the wall, but good enough for a little JE, this was amusing to me today in a psychologically odd way, sort of follows that article I put up the other day about magic (on technocrat). We picked our first big watermelon of the season, a little late, but we got it. So we get all set, chill it first in the fridge, then the big slice! It's freaking yellow, I mean yellow brand yellow! HAHAHAHAH My brain didn't adjust for a second. LadyZ had apparently planted something called "yellow wonders" and just forgot. Your brain is all set to see *red*..it was just really strange for a minute there. Funny how your brain when it really anticipates something just goes bonkers when reality don't match up. BTW, pretty tasty! I also went nuts with yellow instead of red tomatoes this year, been eating tons of them, plus the chickens get all the seconds, etc, they like them too.

In 2005, Federal Court Justice Sean Harrington heard Cpl. Read's case and upheld the firing for "lack of loyalty to the government."
One of the reasons why I never bothered joining any of the police forces in Canada; I never thought I could ever pass the psychological and personality tests that deal with morality and "loyalty", seeing as my morals and ideas of loyalty are rather deviant. I suppose it's also one of the reasons why I have never been promoted.
I don't see this as news so I suppose that's why this story is unlikely to be in the mainstream Canadian press. We've had RCMP, etc inquiries and investigations before on much less serious issues, and every one of these investigations led to nobody being punished except for the people who made an issue of it. Cops, priests, politicians, managers, human resource professionals, and those people who support or condone them I will never understand, and I've given up trying to communicate with them because I'm not intelligent enough to understand them. I always thought they were dumb and evil, but when I look at the houses they live in and the cars they drive and look at their smiling faces and happy families I realize that it must be me. I really should get my act together.

That's a great little dramatic rant. I guess I never saw that movie.
As to working for the man, I never have and won't, because of all those reasons and more.

Good Will Hunting is one of those movies that I can easily watch over and over again (and so I recognized that quote quite easily). The main protagonist (Will Hunting) uses eloquent dialogue throughout the movie. It's one of the best written movies I've ever watched (I've even read the screenplay). Another good movie with great dialogue is Boiler Room.
If you ever come across these movies on the Arts and Entertainment channel then skip them (there's nothing artful or entertaining about redacted dialogue) and
