Journal Otter's Journal: Grousing about rejected submissions is Offtopic... 3

Far be it from me to grouse, but I confess I had thought the story of TerraSoft and Sony building a Cell supercomputing cluster from PS3's and Yellow Dog was pretty much a sure thing. I even threw in an Obligatory Stupid Question at the end! I guess there's more important news today, like "Censored Prof asks: 'This means that suddenly, university students...are often blocked from very legitimate information crucial to their area of study...Electronic Art sites are blocked. Anything with ".mp3" is blocked.'"

In general, Ask Slashdot has gotten absolutely useless in the last year. If there really are no genuine technical questions for Cliff to post (and I'm glad to hear everyone else's computer works so well!), just give it up instead of giving Obligatory Stupid Questions their own section.

  • http://technocrat.net/ [technocrat.net] is still small enough to accept front page story submissions- and will pay $2 to your paypal account for them. If you write well enough, they'll even give you editor privledges. I submit all my stories there first- except when I'm poaching something from /.'s home page.
  • "Keeping Web Discussions Open, Yet Civilized?"

On Slashdot?! Isn't that like going to a KKK rally and asking "How can we be nicer to Jews and Blacks?"
