IBM has a lot of investment going on in Cloud computing right now.
With no longer having to worry about canibalizing pc sales - sorry lenovo...
IBM's taking the road of using the now adequately fast enough "cloud" to offer virtual computing via the "Cloud".
To that end... being able to offer a complete "virtual" desktop/application suite works well... even if it is free!
Why... because IBM will make their $$ on the gazillion blade servers and the consulting sold to support the "Cloud".
