All objects can be juggled. Object.Juggle(Objectlist) adds Object to ObjectList and starts Juggling all objects in ObjectList if juggling is not already in progress.

Stopping juggling is another matter.

To prevent compile-time errors,
Object.StopJuggling(Objectlist,Object)
and ObjectList.StopJuggling()
are both defined but they return ERROR_CANNOT_REMOVE_OBJECT_JUGGLE_IN_PROGRESS and
ERROR_CANNOT_STOP_JUGGLING
respectively for classes that do not override these methods.

Juggling is not an efficient operation and should be used sparingly. If any non-empty ObjectList is currently juggling, significant CPU and other resources are used.

Isn't there a number between 0 and 2? I can't handle two objects in motion, but I can manage one object getting passed and back and forth.

Dyslexic and un-coordinated, but stubborn enough to learn juggling. Even got up to 5 balls at one point. Once you learn, it is engrained. Can still juggle whilst drunk.

I learned a simple three ball cascade as a way to relax. You just cannot juggle if you are tense. You have to relax and let the balls flow. It's very calming.

I can juggle any amount of objects - for less time than it takes for them to fall. Slow down the rotation of your space station, and you can juggle for hours! ;-P

Seriously: I've recently tried juggling a couple of very large avocados, which also helps soften them up, and is good for the biceps. They're a good source of healthy fatty acids, potassium, and other micronutrients. And they taste great. But of course the greatest benefit is - they resemble breasts!

See, I spend a lot of time listening to audio-books, and I like to get some exercise at the same time. Under these circumstances, when cooking / housework is done and there's no desire to go for a walk in the woods, juggling no longer seems like an irrational waste of time. It doesn't distract the mind from the audio-book as much as many other tasks...

I can juggle two objects with one hand and I am working on being able to juggle three objects using two hands.

I can manage four with two in each hand, but not for very long. I never really felt much need to go up to more than three anyway.

Paper is pretty slow in the way it falls, even if a tad unpredictable, so catching it before it hits the ground isn't all that difficult.

How to juggle

I taught many people how to juggle IRL.
Here's my attempt to teach it online, without visual information and without constant feedback.
It isn't hard, and you don't need much time to learn it.
I tried my best to cut the learning process in as many small steps as possible.
Some might seem obvious to you, but they are important nonetheless.

It helps to have someone nearby that can show you how a proper 3 ball cascade is performed. No need to show off!
The cascade should be smooth, with a constant rhythm and not too fast or not too high. If you don't know anybody who can juggle, Youtube should be able to help you.

So :
* Begin with only one ball.
* Throw it from your right hand to your left hand (R->L).
* Try to launch it at eyes-height.
* Notice that you don't need to look at your hands. Your brain only needs to look at the apogee in order to know where your left hand should be.
* Did you manage to catch it? Good!
* Throw the ball from your left hand to your right hand (L->R).
* R->L,catch,pause,L->R,catch,pause,R->L,catch,pause,...
* Don't worry if you don't always manage to catch.
* Make sure that the R->L and L->R throws appear symmetrical, with approximately the same height.
* If you feel confident with one ball, grab another one.
* Take one ball in each hand.
* Throw R->L.
* Just as the first ball reaches its apogee, throw L->R.
* Try to catch the first ball.
* Try to catch the second ball.
* If you have troubles catching balls, your timing might be off.
* Try to only concentrate on throwing the balls at the right time and height.
* Let them fall on the floor
* Listen to the "rhythm".
* If they land at the same time, you're probably throwing the second ball too fast, or too low
* The duration between two landings should be approximately the same as between the two throws.
* Once the rhythm seems fine, concentrate on catching one ball
* Catch two balls
* R->L,L->R,catch,catch,pause,R->L,L->R,catch,catch,pause,R->L,L->R,catch,catch,pause
* Try L->R,R->L
* It probably feels less comfortable than the other one.
* It's composed of the exact same movement as R->L,L->R, you just begin with the other hand!
* L->R,R->L,catch,catch,pause,L->R,R->L,catch,catch,pause,L->R,R->L,catch,catch,pause
* Concentrate on launching the second ball at the exact same time the first ball reaches its apogee.
* Having a constant rhythm is more important than being able to catch sloppy throws.
* Believe it or not, you're almost there, and you did the hardest part! :D
* Instead of always beginning the two throws with the same hand, try to begin with the same ball (it helps to have balls of different colour) :
R->L,L->R,catch,catch,pause,L->R,R->L,catch,catch,pause,R->L,L->R,catch,catch,pause
* R->L,L->R,catch,catch,short pause,L->R,R->L,catch,catch,short pause,R->L,L->R,catch,catch,short pause
* Those variations are actually harder than the 3 ball cascade. Don't worry if it doesn't work at first :

Say Hello : R->L,say hello with your right hand while L->R ,catch,catch,L->R, say hello with your left hand while R->L,catch,catch, ...
* Since you'll have 3 balls in 2 hands, you got to begin with two balls in your right hand.
* Take 2 balls in your right hand, and none in your left hand
* Throw only one ball R->L.
* Catch it.
* Time to use that 3rd ball!
* R->L,L->R,catch,catch with the 3rd ball still in your right hand.
* You already know how to R->L,L->R and L->R,R->L, so just "concatenate" them and try R->L,L->R,R->L and l

I can't juggle, but I taught my brother how to. I learned from a book (Juggling for the Complete Klutz, which I highly recommend, btw), but didn't have the patience to actually develop the muscle memory. Meanwhile, my brother was wanting to learn, so I taught him!
